How is the data located on the Data Pool?
Data are stored in the Data Pool in a predefined directory
structure, as follows:
<Data Group>/<ESDT.version>/<acquisitiondate>,
where <Data Group> is one of the following ECS collection
groupings for MODIS data:
MOAT is MODIS-Terra Atmosphere
MOGT is MODIS-Terra Radiances and Geolocation
MOOT is MODIS-Terra Oceans
MOAA is MODIS-Aqua Atmosphere
MOGA is MODIS-Aqua Radiances and Geolocation
MOOA is MODIS-Aqua Oceans
OTHR is Ancillary and any other data not in MOAT, MOGT, MOOT,
MOAA, MOGA and MOOA.
For convenience, symbolic links with fully qualified names have
been also
created, i.e., "MODIS-Aqua -> Atmosphere" is, in fact,
"MOAA".
Science granules are stored in the appropriate directory based on
collection and acquisition date.
A corresponding metadata file is stored with each science granule
in the science granule
directory, in XML format with a .xml extension (see notes on XML
at the end of this Readme)
Links to all associated Browse files in the Data Pool will also
be stored in the science granule
directory. Browse files are stored in the Data Pool as a JPEG
(.jpg) image.
Disclaimers for MODIS products are located in the group
directories as product_disclaimers.txt
