I am using the 3-hourly 3B42V6 rainfall rate from TRMM. However, I would like to know how to convert these 3-hour daily rainfall rate (mm/hour) in total daily rainfall (mm/day).

We first convert rain rate into accumulated rainfall by multiplying 3 hours for each 3 hour interval of the day and sum up them.
